Established in 1919, Dandenong High School has a long tradition and an outstanding reputation for providing excellent educational programs. Dandenong High School is a multicultural school, and international students are warmly integrated into the school community. The caring environment engenders in each individual a sense of self-worth, tolerance and the confidence to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society. The school is currently undergoing a $45 million rebuilding program which encompasses an innovative approach to education. The school’s structure is based on the house system, which encourages a sense of community, develops connectedness to the school and creates a feeling of belonging for all students. The school provides a diverse educational program that offers a broad range of learning programs for Year 10, 11 and 12 students, preparing them for tertiary studies. It has a strong commitment to learning technologies, with the latest computer facilities, multimedia facilities and equipment. The school provides a caring and supportive transition program and celebrates student achievement — academic, sporting and cultural. Specialist programs in English as a Second Language are held in small class sizes. An Accelerated Learning Program is offered to gifted and talented students.
