Mentone Grammar is renowned for its innovative and contemporary approach to education. Our unique coeducation model, Together-Apart-Together, sees students in Years 5 to 9 study apart in separate gender classes, reflecting modern thinking that boys and girls develop differently during various stages of adolescence. Boys and girls learn together in all other year levels.
The curriculum is tailored to encourage academic and personal success, and is complemented by a diverse range of programs in music, performing and visual arts and sport and experiential camps, including a specialised Year 9 program.
Pastoral care is integral to our students’ wellbeing and performance, underpinned by a strong house and mentoring system. The school’s values include integrity, caring, resilience, service, discipline, respect and endeavour.
All students have access to outstanding facilities on one campus, including the Sports and Function Centre, Aquatics Complex and high-tech Science and Environmental Studies Centre. Modern, innovative learning spaces include glass classrooms; a student learning lounge and university-style library; and new P–4, Year 7 and Year 9 learning centres. The school is centrally located close to transport in Melbourne’s bayside, with 17 hectares of sports playing fields at Keysborough and an outdoor education facility on Shoreham Beach, Mornington Peninsula.
